LAÖ Eastern Townships

Is the Canopée a rustic tiny cabin?

Yes. The Canopée is our flagship rustic tiny cabin at Laö Cabines: solar-powered lighting and 2 USB outlets (no grid electricity), composting toilet, showers at the main pavilion, and pedestrian access only (between 450 and 770 m from the parking lot). For a true rustic cabin getaway in the Eastern Townships, it's our most aligned option for off-grid seekers.

Can I rent the Canopée as a tiny cabin for 2 or for a couple's getaway?

Absolutely. The Canopée fits up to 4 guests (a queen bed plus a double sofa bed), but it's perfectly suited as a tiny cabin for 2 or a romantic tiny home rental. It's also an excellent micro cabin rental for a couple seeking quiet, perched among the trees, far from any distraction. The rate stays the same for 2 or 4 guests.

Can I bring a dog to the Canopée?

Yes — but only in the Canopée Sauvage cabin (the other Canopée units do not allow pets). Additional fees apply. If you're looking for a tiny cabin with dog at Laö, the Coteau and the Orée are also pet-friendly, and they offer running water, electricity, and Wi-Fi for a more comfortable stay with your companion.

How do I get to the Canopée from Magog, Bromont, or Montreal?

The Canopée is in Racine, in the Eastern Townships, about 30 minutes from Magog, 45 minutes from Bromont, and 1h45 from Montreal. It's one of the most popular tiny cabins in the Eastern Townships for its perched setting and off-grid feel — an ideal pick for a tiny cabin near Magog or tiny cabin in Quebec escape away from the crowds.

What sets the Canopée apart from a regular micro cabin?

The Canopée shares with the micro cabin concept its compact format, integration into the landscape, and minimalist spirit. It stands out by its stilt-mounted structure, fully solar-powered lighting, no running water (a 15L drinking water container is provided), and pedestrian-only access. It's a tiny cabin on stilts, halfway between a treehouse and a rustic tiny cabin rental in the forest.
