Explore nearly 4 km of year-round maintained trails on site and move through the forest at your own pace. To extend the experience, nearby trails in Mont-Orford National Park offer up to 6 additional kilometres. Close by, the Estrie Trail network and the Lac Brais Nature Reserve invite you to keep exploring.

Let the rhythm of the forest guide your run across nearly 4 km of trails. Through wooded sections and varied terrain, the route invites you to move freely. For those looking to go further, nearby trails in Mont-Orford National Park allow you to extend your run.

Nearby, Lac Brais, located on Sépaq territory adjacent to our site, offers additional access to an exceptional natural setting. For a family‑friendly outing, the sandy shores of Lake Brompton and McKenzie Beach provide a welcoming place to enjoy the clear waters of the Eastern Townships.
Paddleboard & Kayak
Move gently across calm waters by paddleboard, canoe or kayak and follow the quiet shoreline as the landscape reveals its natural beauty. Let the rhythm of the water guide you as you take in the stillness that surrounds you.

For a guided outing, local partners such as Canot‑Kayak Richmond offer river descents for a more immersive experience.Paddleboards, canoes and kayaks are available in self‑service. No reservation is required.

Ride along our maintained paths, whether fatbiking through snow‑covered trails in winter or cycling under open skies during the warmer months. The region also offers a rich network of scenic cycling routes, including the Slate Trail, which winds through the rolling landscapes of the Eastern Townships.

Snowshoeing & sliding
Explore snow-covered trails on snowshoes and take in the quiet stillness of winter, where fresh snow turns every step into a discovery. 

For families, the slopes on site become a playground, inviting joyful rides on sleds and snow saucers. 

Snowshoes are available for rent, and sleds and saucers are provided on site.
Cross-country skiing
Cross-country skiing is not groomed on site, but it is possible to venture freely along the snow-covered trails connecting the cabins, for a more rugged and ungroomed experience.

Nearby, several options offer ideal conditions, including the municipal trails in Racine (over 10 km, free), as well as the Richmond–Melbourne cross-country ski center (42 km), Massawippi (15 km), and Plein Air Sutton (23 km).

Is the thermal spa with hot tubs and sauna included?

Yes, access is included for guests staying in our tiny cabins and RV sites. Time slots are reserved at the welcome pavilion in 45-minute periods to preserve privacy. The spa and sauna in the Eastern Townships is accessible year-round, making it one of the main reasons to visit in winter. Two outdoor hot tubs and a sauna make up the area.

Can I go kayaking or paddle surfing on site?

Yes. Lac à Paul, accessible on foot from the estate, allows swimming, kayaking and paddle surfing. Equipment can be rented on site. Within short distance, Lac Brais (Sépaq) and Lac Brompton offer additional water options. For a stay in the Eastern Townships centred around the water, it's an ideal anchor in July and August.

Are there winter activities at Laö?

Yes. Snowshoeing on maintained trails, fat biking (bring your own or rent), natural slope sledding, and access to the thermal spa to warm up. The estate's trails are maintained year-round and the Mont-Orford trails are accessible nearby. For those seeking a spa and sauna in the Eastern Townships combined with a snow stay, Laö is one of the most complete options.

How many kilometres of trails are available?

Nearly 4 km of trails maintained year-round on the Laö Cabines estate, plus up to 6 km in the neighbouring Mont-Orford National Park. In total, more than 10 km of walking is directly accessible from the site without a vehicle. For hikers, the Lac Brais Nature Reserve opens up even more exploration options in the Eastern Townships.
